What is a Florida wrongful death claim?

A wrongful death claim in the state of Florida is when unfortunately someone passes away due to the negligence of another person or an entity. In those kind of cases, the estate of the deceased person is the one that brings the claim or the lawsuit on behalf of the person that died. Easy examples, and some that everyone is probably aware of, is perhaps a pedestrian that’s hit by an automobile in a crosswalk, or a fatal motor vehicle accident. We see those, unfortunately, all the time here on the Florida roadways. Another example that we see is defective products. Easy one there to be discussing, airbags that didn’t deploy when they needed to deploy.
