Who is responsible for an Uber or Lyft accident?

Naturally as it occurs in many different areas of law. The answer is complicated, but the context of the answer that I want to provide deals with the most common client that I see and that most common client is a passenger in a Uber or Lyft accident. That passenger is a seat-belted restrained passenger who is not then interfering at all with the driver, which is almost all of my clients that come in as passengers.

The answer to the question of who is responsible. If the accident was the Uber or Lyft driver’s fault, Uber or Lyft will come in and ensure the injured party or client. Now, the contrast is the accident was somebody else’s fault. Let’s say someone rear-ended the Uber or Lyft. Well, now the potential recovery can come from the adverse driver, the person who rear-ended the Uber or Lyft, and/or Uber or Lyft depending on the different kinds of insurances involved.
