If my insurance company sends a request for me to do an examination under oath, do I have to attend?

Yes. The majority of all automobile insurance policies within the state of Florida requires the insureds which are our clients to attend examinations under oath. We refer to as EUOs, in order to be compliant with the policy to ensure that the insurance company will extend those $10,000 of medical benefits known as no-fault benefits or PIP benefits to our clients.

There is also a second type of mandatory appointment that sometimes you need to attend. It’s called an Independent Medical Examination, an IME. If you ever get a letter discussing either of these, it is important that you call our office to advise us that you’re receiving this kind of letter so that we can walk you through every step.
